Body Shape and Wedding Dress Style Guide

With the end of the summer approaching it's time to focus on finding your dream wedding dress. No doubt by now you have your Pinterest board set up with the style of dress you think you want, or maybe you have no idea! Our style consultants in our bridal shop in Kettering, near Northampton are here to guide you on what best suits your body shape. For now we thought we would give you a quick overview.
Petite - Go for a dress that has delicate laces or a simpler minimalist look in a sheath or fit-and-flare style, a ballgown will consume your small frame. A soft and airy tulle skirt will give you the look of a more voluminous silhouette. A plunging V neckline will draw the eye up, giving you the illusion of height.
Tall & Thin - Lucky you! Long wedding dresses were made with you in mind - you can pretty much wear anything. Want to give the illusion of curves? Consider contouring seams that create imaginary curves. You could also go for a split to show off those legs.
Hourglass - Show off your perfect waist. You can go for a fitted dress, fishtail or fit-and-flare to show off those beautiful curves, want to cover up a little more? Go for a ballgown type to hide your hips.
Fuller figure - A lace illusion neckline paired with a cummerbund-style waistline looks especially slimming. Simply adding embellishment or a belt will draw the eye inward minimising your waist. Detail across your upper body can you the perfect option to wear a sheath style dress.
