Bride essentials

Posted on 14 Jun '17 by Alex Robinson

Your wedding day is one of the most exciting days of your life and you want everything to be perfect for your day in the spotlight. When organising a wedding, it seems as though there are a thousand things to think about. Every bride needs to be set for her wedding day, and the following essentials are must-haves for the big day:

Wedding dress

There is no wedding without a wedding gown; you may have picked the most stunning dress in the shop, but ensure that your wedding gown leaves you enough room to breathe.

The last thing a bride needs is a gown which is constricting and makes her feel uncomfortable.

A narrow dress will have you tugging and jerking the fabric all the time which will result in the dress being damaged, and you unable to enjoy the day to the max.

Not to mention that you do not wish to attract an audience by reflecting how uncomfortable you are.

We suggest that you try the dress beforehand to perfect its fitting and get it adjusted if necessary.

Shoes

A comfortable pair of shoes is a must have along with the wedding dress.

To avoid blisters, it is always suggested for a bride to break into her wedding pair of shoes way ahead of time.

If you can imagine yourself not being able to you may be better off opting for a more comfortable pair.

Keep your outfit on point because this is one day where you want to look your best. Switching to flip-flops during the reception should be your last resort.

Veil

Choose a veil which will compliment the style of your wedding gown. A veil is one of the most important elements of a bride’s attire.

When it comes to the veil, choose very wisely as there are various different styles to choose from, such as shoulder length veils, waltz veils, etc.

Accessories

Sort your accessories right after you shop for your wedding gown and shoes. Go for a statement jewellery piece, which will complement the gown.

If you opt to wear some old accessories, which may be given to you by your mum then ensure that it somehow still manages to compliment the dress.

Waterproof mascara

Not everyone prefers to wear makeup on a daily basis, but on your wedding day it can be nice to change things up to make yourself look extra special.

There will be a lot of happy tears shedding, due to the nature of the event and you do not want to smudge your mascara, just in case tears happen.

Waterproof mascara is on the top of the must-have wedding makeup products. Wearing waterproof mascara on your wedding day will keep your makeup looking fresh, and leave your face smudge free.

Long-lasting lipstick

Long Lasting LipstickLipsticks can fade or smear away while eating, speaking and kissing.

To get the right shade you must try lipsticks from multiple brands; colour and experiment for a while to gauge how long lasting it is.

Wearing it regularly will show whether the lipstick has the possibility of fading, smudging, or smearing.

Mirror and comb

In your small cocktail purse make sure you have a hair brush and a small compact mirror. Having a mirror handy will keep you looking your best throughout the ceremony and reception.

It is just a little bit of added confidence, as you can quickly check for makeup smudges and reapply some quick makeup fixes. A hairbrush or comb will help to tame those frizzy hairs so as to keep you picture perfect throughout the day.

A quick dab of lipstick and one or two brushes through your hair will have you ready to meet and entertain your guests.
